[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 가평군은 집중호우, 태풍, 폭설 등 자연재해로 인하여 발생한 주택가 인근의 위험목을 제거하는 '주택피해 우려목 제거사업'을 운영하고 있다고 밝혔다.

'주택피해 우려목 제거사업'은 밭이나 도로변의 위험목은 제외하고 주택가 인근의 위험목을 벌채 대행하는 사업으로, 위험목을 주민 자체적으로 벌채하여야 하지만 장비 임차에 소요되는 경비가 많고 인력 고용의 어려움이 있어 군은 올해 기간제 근로자 및 전문 용역 업체를 통하여 주택 피해 우려목 제거 사업을 오는 11월 말까지 추진 예정이다. 

현재까지 관내 209개소 2,023본의 위험목을 제거하여 자연재해의 우려가 있는 현장 민원을 신속히 처리해 주민 불안 및 불편을 해소했다고 밝혔다.

산림과에서는 "조기에 위험수목 제거작업을 완료해 자연재해로부터 군민들의 인명 및 재산 피해를 최소화할 수 있도록 최선을 다할 것"이라고 말했다.

한편, 주택피해 우려목 제거를 원하는 주민은 해당 읍·면사무소 산업팀이나 가평군청 산림과 산림시설팀에 신청하면 되며, 산림재해 우려도와 작업 난이도를 파악하여 제거 순위를 결정하고 긴급한 위험목에 대해서는 사업 시행 시 우선 제거하는 등 현장조사를 통하여 예산을 효율적으로 활용한다는 계획이다.
