[김현우 기자 = 가평] 가평군은 전체면적의 82%인 산림자원 보전을 위해 친환경 녹색임도사업을 추진한다고 6일 밝혔다.

가평군은 올해 21억여 원의 예산을 투입, 임도 3개 5.24km 개설을 추진함으로써 지속 가능한 산림경영과 산촌진흥을 이루기로 했다. 

사업구간은 가평읍 마장리 1.9km, 북면 이곡리 2.14km, 가평읍 개곡리 1.2km 등이다.

가평군은 지난해 7월, 임도 타당성 평가를 완료하고 금년 1월에는 임도 신설 및 구조개량 실시설계를 진행했었다.

임도사업은 농촌 마을과 군도, 농어촌도로 등을 연결해 마을주민의 교통 접근성을 높일 뿐만 아니라 목재 및 임산물 재배․생산 등 효율적인 산림경영과 산불발생시 산불진화에 적극 대응할 수 있어 점차 그 필요성이 증대되고 있다.

가평군 관계자는 “지역특성과 산림자원을 활용한 친환경적인 임도를 설치해 임업인들의 소득증대에 기여할 수 있도록 사업추진에 만전을 기하겠다”며 “앞으로도 친자연적이고 안전한 임도 설치를 통해 지역특성에 적합한 노선과 임도 인프라를 확충할 계획”이라고 말했다.

한편, 가평군은 산림보호를 위해 매년 봄, 가을철 산불조심기간으로 정하고 각 읍면에 산불감시원 및 산불전문예방진화대 등을 취약지역에 배치해 순찰을 강화하는 등 산불방지에 총력 대응하고 있다.

특히 금년에는 산불현장까지 30분이내 골든 타임제 운영 등 초동진화체계 구축을 위해 사업비 6억5000만원을 들여 산불진화용 민간헬기를 고정 배치했으며, 운영기간은 봄철 104일, 가을철 66일 등 총 170일이다.
