[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동해시가 태풍·호우·폭염 등 여름철 자연재난 예방을 위해 오는 10월 15일까지를 여름철 자연재난 사전대비 대응기간으로 정하고 인명피해 제로화 및 재산피해 최소화 목표달성을 위해 총력을 기울이고 있다고 전했다.

동해시는 지난 5월 여름철 자연재난 대응계획 관련 보고회를 개최해 부서(분야)별 대응계획을 공유하고 각 부서별로 관리 중인 시설물에 대한 사전점검을 실시했다.

특히, 관내 인명피해 우려지역으로 지정된 시설물을 포함해 급경사지 48개소 및 산사태 취약지구 56개소, 사방댐 46개소, 관내 관광지 및 관광시설, 하천 및 도로, 대규모 공사장, 상·하수도시설, 농·축산시설 등을 집중 점검하고 시설을 보완하며 장마철 피해 발생에 적극 대응하고 있다. 

또, 태풍·호우 예비특보 발효 시 인명피해 우려지역 내 거주 주민에 대해 위험상황 및 사전대피를 미리 알려주는 알림서비스도 구축했다.

동해시는 연일 30도가 넘는 폭염에 대비해 홈페이지, 마을방송, 전광판, 현수막 등을 통한 폭염 대비 국민행동요령 홍보를 비롯해 관내 폭염저감시설(그늘막) 정비 및 추가설치, 무더위쉼터 수시 점검, 독거노인 및 장애인 가정방문, 취약계층에 대한 냉방용품 지원 등 폭염대책도 적극 추진하고 있다.

장해주 안전과장은 여름철 자연재난 예방을 위한 시민들의 적극적인 협조를 당부하면서 “태풍·호우·폭염 등 여름철 자연재난에 선제적으로 대응하여 재산피해 최소화 및 인명피해 제로화 목표달성은 물론, 모든 시민이 안전하고 행복한 동해시를 만드는데 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
