[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 11월 5일 동두천시는 오전 종합운동장 옆 제설 전진기지에서 폭설대응 제설 종합훈련을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

동두천시와 각 동의 관련자 40명이 참여한 가운데 진행된 이번 훈련은 제설장비 가동훈련 및 시연, 임차를 포함한 관내 18개 주요 노선체계 교육, 강설 시 신속한 제설방법, 제설장비 응급조치 요령에 대해 실제상황을 가정해 강도 높게 진행됐고, 또한 이번 훈련에서는 그동안 문제점으로 지적되었던 인도 위 제설작업을 개선하기 위해 각 동 행정복지센터에 제설용 엔진송풍기를 지급함으로써 보행자의 안전사고 예방에 대한 기대감도 커졌다고 했다.

훈련상황을 지켜본 이상국 도로과장은 “철저한 준비로 상황발생시 신속히 제설작업을 이행함으로써, 시민 피해와 불편이 최소화 되도록 최선을 다하자”며 대비태세의 중요성을 강조했다.

동두천시는 지난 10월 초 제설장비 정비를 완료한 바 있는데, 덤프트럭·소형트럭·제설기를 포함한 장비 51대를 비롯해 제설제 930톤, 액상제설제 6만리터, 제설함 538개, 모래주머니 2만개를 갖추는 등 사전 준비로 제설대비에 만전을 기하고 있다고 밝혔다.
