[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 3월 31일, 동두천시는 동두천시 환경미화원 32명에 대해 중대재해처벌법 시행에 따른 안전보건교육을 실시하였다고 밝혔다.

이번 교육은 안전 수칙 및 안전사고 예방 교육 등 일선에서 근무하는 환경미화원들이 외부 작업으로 인해 발생 가능한 질병과 부상을 최소화할 수 있도록 안전한 작업환경을 조성하는 데 중점을 뒀다고 했다.

시는 매년 환경미화원들의 안전사고 예방을 위해 안전보호장구 지급 및 근무환경 점검을 통하여 재해방지를 위해 최선을 다하고 있다고 전했다. 

동두천시 환경보호과장은 “깨끗하고 쾌적한 동두천시를 위해 뛰는 환경미화원들의 노고에 감사드린다”라며 “현장에서 발생할 수 있는 안전사고를 예방하기 위해 환경미화원에 대한 안전보건교육을 정기적으로 실시하여 재해방지를 위해 최선을 다하겠다”라고 밝혔다.
