[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 12월 7일 북부지방산림청은 해빙기, 집중호우, 태풍 등으로부터 국민의 생명과 재산을 보호하고 피해를 예방하기 위한 산사태취약지역 지정 심의회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

산사태취약지역은 「산림보호법」에 따라 산사태발생 우려지역에 대한 기초조사 실시 후 조사 자료를 바탕으로 실태조사를 거쳐 전문가로 구성된 산사태취약지역 지정 심의회를 통해 지정·고시된다고 했다.

산사태취약지역으로 지정되면 산사태 예방사업을 통해 피해를 예방하고, 비상연락망 구축, 대피장소 지정, 위기경보 긴급재난문자 송출 등 주민대피체계를 구축하고, 연 2회 공무원 및 산사태현장예방단이 현장점검을 통해 위험요소를 사전에 발견하여 응급조치 등을 실시하게 된다고 했다.

현재 북부지방산림청은 2020년까지 1,272개소의 산사태취약지역을 지정·관리하고 있으며 이번 42개소를 추가 지정하여 산사태로 인한 피해예방에 적극 대처할 계획이라고 전했다.

최수천 북부지방산림청장은 “산사태우려지역에 대해 취약지역 지정 및 적극적인 재해예방사업, 정기 현장점검을 통해 자연재난으로부터 국민과 재산을 보호할 수 있도록 최선을 다할 것”이라고 말했다.
