[김준호 기자 = 동해시] 동해시(시장 심규언)가 향후 10년 간 주요 하천과 도심지 내, 자연재해 저감 종합계획 수립에 나서고 있어 시민들의 관심이 집중되고 있다. 

오늘 보고회에서는 자연재해 현황과 예방사업, 주변여건 변화와 각종 개발계획을 반영하고, 위험요인을 조사‧분석한 자료를 토대로 예방 및 저감대책, 실행방안을 제시하는 내용을 담았다.

또한, 지난 6월 20일 ‘동해시 자연재해저감종합계획 재수립용역’ 중간보고 회의 보완사항을 담아 오는 17일 심규언 시장을 비롯한 지휘부, 관련 부서장, 용역사 관계자 등 15여명이 참석한 가운데 진행 될 예정이다.

시는, 향후 10년간 동해시에서 발생할 수 있는 자연 재해 유형에 대한 구역별 위험지구 선정, 중점 정비를 통해 재난관리 평가에 대비  하고 안전한 동해시를 조성해 나간다는 방침이다. 

한편, 2019년과 2022년 강릉시 옥계 지역의 산불로 동해시 망상과 묵호 일원의 화재 피해를 당한 해당 지역 주민들은 현재 추진되고 있는 동해시의 자연재해 저감 종합계획수립에 이목이 쏠리고 있다.

시는 올해 말까지 기초현황조사 및 자연재해 위험지역 후보지를 선정한 후, 위험도 지수 및 요인 분석 결과를 반영한 지역을 확정하고, 내년 2월 주민공청회와 시행계획을  수립해 6월 행정안전부 승인을 받아 최종 확정할 예정이다.
