[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 가평군 청평면은 지난 17일 부터, 전통시장 활성화를 위한 깨끗한 청평 5일장 만들기 프로젝트를 시행한다고 밝혔다.

이번 프로젝트에 참여하는 대상으로는 청평면, 여울시장상인회, 5일장 상인회, 청평1리주민 등으로 민관 합동으로 추진한다.

청평5일장은 2일과 7일마다 장이 열리는데 시장이 열리는 날 오전 6시부터 전통시장 주변을 구석구석 청소하여 전통시장의 새롭고 깨끗한 이미지를 만든다는 취지이다.

지병록 청평면장은 “전통시장 활성화를 위한 노력을 모두가 함께 한다면 주민 누구나 쉽고 편하게 찾을 수 있는 청평5일장이 될 것이며, 작은 움직임이 큰 울림이 되어 골목 상권을 살려 지역경제 활성화를 이룰 것으로 기대된다.”고 말했다.

한편, 청평여울시장은 지난 2021년 경기도형 혁신시장으로 선정된 바 있고, 힐링 청평 버추얼 챌린지 행사 및 대표상품 선정 품평회, 플리마켓 등을 개최하는 등 전통시장 살리기를 위한 노력을 지속적으로 하고 있다.
