[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강릉시는 다가오는 장마(우기) 및 태풍 등 강우로 인한 수해 발생시 시민의 귀중한 재산과 생명을 보호하고자 21일 우기 대비 육갑문 작동시험 및 관리상태를 점검한다고 밝혔다. 

강릉시에는 현재 강릉남대천 5개소, 강동면 1개소, 옥계면 1개소, 총 7개소의 육갑문 설치되어 운영되고 있다고 전했다.

점검은 육갑문의 개폐 시 운행, 와이어 등의 부속물 이탈 여부, 전동기계설비의 작동 여부 및 상태 확인 및 점검, 육갑문 주변 오물 및 토사 등 재해피해 발생 요소 제거 등 육갑문 시설 전반에 대한 점검이라고 했다.

또한, 강릉시 하천부서 전 직원 및 해당 면·동의 하천 담당자들에게 육갑문 작동 방법 등을 교육하여 홍수 범람 등 유사시 신속하게 대응할 수 있도록 이번 육갑문 점검을 계획하고 있다고 했다.

서웅석 건설과장은“육갑문 점검은 매년 장마철 이전(6월경)에 실시했으며, 육갑문의 철저한 관리점검으로 홍수 시 발생할 수 있는 침수피해 등을 최소화하여 시민들의 피해를 사전에 예방하기 위해 최선을 다할 것”이라고 말했다.
