[김준호 기자 = 동해시] 동해시(시장 심규언)가 기후변화에 따른 집중호우·강우 패턴 변화 등 산사태 취약 지역에 대한 사방댐을 신설한다고 밝혔다.
이에따라, 사업비 5억 여원을 투입해 만우동 산10, 산53 일원 사유림 내 2개소를 오는 3월 착공하여 장마철 이전인 6월말까지 완료한다는 계획이다.
또, 지흥동 504 외 18개소를 대상으로 외관점검 및 정밀점검을 실시하고, 귀운동 산 162외 14개소에 대하여는 산사태 실태조사를 실시하는 한편,
산사태현장예방단을 운영하여 사방시설 수시점검 및 보수 등 여름철 집중호우로 인한 산사태로부터 시민의 안전과 재산보호를 위해 만전을 기한다는 방침이다.
한편, 시에서는 현재 사방댐 47개소, 산사태취약지역 54개소 등 총 사방시설 101개소를 관리하고 있다.
심정교 녹지과장은 “집중호우에 대비하여 사방사업지를 철저히 점검하여 산림재해로부터 시민의 생명과 재산피해을 보호하는데 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
