[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 경기주택도시공사(GH)는 22일 집중호우에 따른 피해 구호를 위해 성금 2천만 원을 기탁하고 임직원 자원봉사 활동을 펼쳤다고 밝혔다.

GH가 대한적십자사 경기지사에 전달한 성금은 도내 수해 피해 지역을 복구하고 이재민 구호활동을 지원하는 등 지역사회 피해 최소화를 위해 쓰일 예정이다.

성금 후원에 더해 임직원들은 수해 피해현장을 찾아 수해 복구 활동에 참여했다. 40여 명으로 구성된 GH봉사단은 경기도 용인시 고기리 일대 수해 피해지역에서 폭우로 인해 쌓인 토사물을 제거하고, 도로 청소 및 쓰레기 분리수거 작업 등을 진행했다.

전형수 GH 부사장(사장 직무대행)은 "예상치 못한 자연재해로 어려움을 겪는 이재민의 일상 회복에 조금이나마 도움이 되길 바라며, 앞으로도 재난 취약계층과 피해지역 복구 지원에 힘쓰겠다"고 말했다.

한편 GH는 2019년 강원도 산불피해, 2022년 3월 강원·경북 산불피해 복구 성금을 기탁하는 등 지역을 넘어선 상생 활동을 실천해오고 있다.
