[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양양군은 산림재해로부터 주민의 생명과 재산을 지키기 위해 폭설, 강풍, 폭우 등 재난사고 예방을 위한 주택피해목 및 생활권 주변 지장목 제거사업에 나선다고 밝혔다.

재해위험목 제거사업은 폭설이나 집중호우, 강풍 등에 의해 주택 및 건물 쪽으로 쓰러져 인명과 재산에 피해를 줄 우려가 있는 수목을 사전 제거하는 사업이며 올해 1억3천만 원의 예산을 들여 설해목 과 주택피해목, 고사목 등 총 78건 260여본을 제거해 주민들의 불편을 해소해 나간다는 방침이다.

군은 주민이 직접 제거하기 어려운 주택피해목 및 지장목에 대한 사전조사를 6개 읍면을 대상으로 수시 접수하고 있으며, 주택피해목의 제거를 원하는 경우 신청인과 수목 소유자의 입목 제거 동의서를 첨부해 해당 읍․면사무소나 군청 산림녹지과로 신청하면 된다. 

전형복 산림녹지과장은 “현재 추진하는 재해위험목 제거사업은 여름철 강풍, 집중호우 등 자연재해의 사전 예방을 위한 것으로 인명과 재산피해 최소화를 위해 지속적인 현장 확인과 발굴로 군민들의 불편을 최소화할 계획”이라고 말했다.
