양주시는 오는 2022년까지 총사업비 13억원을 투입해 정밀안전진단 D급(미흡) 판정을 받은 재해위험저수지를 보강해 붕괴, 유실 등 위험 요소를 사전에 차단하고 안정적 용수공급을 도모한다고 전했다.

사업대상지는 백석읍 연곡리 66번지 일원 연곡저수지로 상류사면 656㎡, 하류사면 1,536㎡ 정비를 포함해 댐 마루 콘크리트 포장부 균열 및 파손, 여수로, 방수로, 사통 등을 보수한다고 했다. 

양주시는 오는 9월까지 실시설계 용역을 마치고 행정안전부로부터 사전설계검토 승인을 거쳐 내년 12월까지 마무리할 계획이라고 전했다. 

사업이 완료되면 집중호우 시 우려되는 저수지 붕괴, 사면유실 등을 인명, 재산피해를 사전에 예방할 수 있고, 누수방지를 통한 안정적인 농업용수 확보에 크게 기여할 것으로 예상하고 있다고 했다. 

양주시 관계자는 “이번 정비 사업은 재해위험저수지 보강을 통해 안전한 환경을 조성하기 위한 것”이라며 “앞으로 기상재해를 대비해 저수지 안전관리에 만전을 다하고 나아가 지역 농민들의 영농편익에 이바지할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
