지난 26일 원주 오크밸리 빌리지센터에서 열린 민선8기 1차년도 제3차 강원도시장군수협의회 정례회에서 도내 시군 단체장들은 횡성군수는 영월군에, 영월군수는 평창군에, 평창군수는 정선군에 고향사랑기부금을 기부하는 방식으로 고향사랑기부제의 성공적인 정착과 활성화를 위한 이벤트를 계획했다.

또한, 이번 릴레이 기부를 통해 고향사랑기부제에 대한 인지도를 높이고, 각 지역 답례품 선택을 통해 강원도 지역특산품들을 홍보할 전망이다.

김명기 횡성군수는 “올해 1월부터 시행한 고향사랑기부제가 아직 인지도가 낮은만큼 이번 릴레이 기부로 고향사랑기부제가 더욱 활성화되길 바란다”며, “앞으로도 도내 시군과 함께 상생 발전을 위한 협력에 노력할 것”이라고 말했다.
