[남상훈 기자 = 가평] 20일 가평군새마을회가 올해 제53주년의 새마을의 날을 맞이해 기념행사를 개최했다. 

가평군 새마을회관에서 진행된 기념행사에는 6개 읍·면 남·녀 새마을지도자 80여명이 참석해 재래된장·간장·고추장 담그기 행사를 진행했다.

이와 더불어 우수새마을지도자의 표창 수여식도 개최됐다. 우수지도자로 선정된 6명에게 새마을운동중앙회, 새마을지도자 경기도협의회 등으로부터 표창이 수여됐다.

한편, 이날 행사를 통해 만들어진 재래된장과 간장, 고추장은 관내 총 800세대의 소외계층 및 홀몸 노인에게 전달될 예정이다.
