[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 8월 22일 김동근 의정부시장이 시장실에서 용현산업단지 기업인협의회와 만나 기업인들의 노고를 격려하고 관내 유일한 산업단지인 용현산업단지의 앞으로 나아갈 방향에 대해 논의했다.

용현산업단지 기업인협의회는 산업단지 입주 기업인 상호 간의 친목과 복리증진, 회원사 간의 공동이익에 관한 사항을 협의하고 지역사회 발전에 기여하기 위해 지난 2014년 5월부터 운영 중이며, 산업단지 내 111개 업체가 회원사로 등록돼 있으며  2021년 1월 개관한 의정부시 중소기업지원센터의 수탁기관으로 선정돼 관내 중소기업 역량강화 및 기업활동 지원사업을 추진하고 있다.

김동근 의정부시장은 “용현산업단지는 의정부시 지역 경제에 중추적인 역할을 하는 곳”이라며 “어려운 여건 속에서도 의정부시 경제를 지키고 계신 기업인 여러분께 감사드린다. 앞으로도 기업인들과 자주 만나 기업의 목소리를 듣고 기업이 경영에만 전념할 수 있도록 적극적인 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.

한성우 기업인협의회장은 “시장님이 역점적으로 추진하시는 일자리 창출 사업과 용현산업단지 현실화 방안 등에 대한 관심과 열정에 용현산업단지 기업인 대표로서 적극 지지하며, 앞으로 의정부시 지역경제가 활성화될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 답했다.
