[김준호 기자=동해시] 심규언 동해시장이 고향사랑기부제 릴레이 기부를 통해 지난 31일 인근 시군인 태백시에 10만원을 기부했다고 밝혔다.

올 1월 1일부터 고향사랑기부제가 시행되었으나 제도에 대한 인식도가 낮아 강원도 시장·군수협의회에서 도내 시군 단체장 릴레이 기부 동참에 의견을 모았다. 

고향사랑기부제는 개인이 거주지 외 지방자치단체(광역·기초)에 연간 500만원 한도 내에서 기부를 할 수 있는 제도로, 10만원까지는 전액, 초과분은 16.5% 세액공제 되며, 기부 금액의 30% 내에서 답례품을 제공한다.

협의회에서는 이번 도내 시군 단체장 기부를 통해 기부 촉진을 도모하는 등 고향사랑기부제도의 활성화로 이어지길 기대하고 있다.

심규언 시장은 “고향사랑기부제는 건전한 기부문화를 조성하고 기부자에게 답례품을 제공해 지역경제 활성화를 도모할 수 있다"며 "이번 기부를 통해 강원특별자치도 원년을 맞아 도내 18개 시군이협력을 확고히 하는 한편 기부 분위기 확산과 상생, 화합의 기폭제가 되기를 기원한다”고 말했다.
