[김현우 기자 = 원주시] 원주시는 주요 정책의 담당자와 결정·집행과정 등을 공개하는 정책 실명제를 활성화하기 위해 ‘국민신청실명제’를 운영하고 있다고 28일 밝혔다.

국민신청실명제는 정책의 투명성과 책임성을 강화하기 위해 국민이 공개를 원하는 주요 정책에 참여한 담당자의 실명과 의견 등을 공개하는 제도다.

원주시 홈페이지 정책실명제 코너에서 신청서를 내려받아 사업명과 신청 사유 등을 작성해 이메일 또는 우편으로 제출하면 된다.

원주시민 누구나 신청할 수 있으며, 접수된 사업은 원주시 정책실명제 심의위원회 심의를 거쳐 공개 여부가 결정된다.

단, 정보공개법 제9조에서 정하는 비공개 사유에 해당할 경우 심의 대상에서 제외된다.

원주시는 "국민신청실명제의 활성화를 위해 연중 수시로 신청을 받고 있으며, 시민 수요를 직접 반영함으로써 정책의 책임성과 투명성이 더욱 강화될 것으로 기대하고 있다"고 전했다.

한편, 지난 2013년부터 정책실명제를 추진해온 원주시는 올해 52건의 신규사업을 추가해 현재까지 총 483건의 주요 사업을 공개하고 있으며, 원주시 홈페이지 정책실명제 코너에서 확인할 수 있다.
