[남상훈 기자 = 횡성군] 10일 횡성군은 직영 유원시설인 횡성루지체험장이 동절기 휴장을 마치고 전격 개장하며 올해 개장을 기념해 오는 31일 까지 모든 이용객을 대상으로 정상 이용요금의 50%할인 행사도 실시 한다고 밝혔다.

루지는 특별한 동력장치 없이 특수 제작된 카트를 타고 경사와 중력만을 이용해 트랙을 달리는 사계절 썰매다. 지난 2020년 8월 첫 개장한 횡성루지체험장은 우천면 오원리-안흥리 전재 구간에 있는 옛 국도 42호선 폐도로에 총 길이 2.4km로 조성됐다. 단일코스는 최장길이를 자랑하며 치악산의 수려한 경관과 함께 짜릿한 속도감으로 관광객에게 꾸준한 인기를 끌고 있다.

횡성루지체험장은 오는 11월까지 운영되며, 운영시간은 오전 09시30분부터 오후 17시 30분까지다. 그러나 성수기인 7월 15일부터 8월 31일까지는 오후 18시 30분까지 1시간 연장 운영한다. 이용료는 주중 1회 12,000원, 2회 21,000원, 주말과 성수기에는 1회 15,000원, 2회 24,000원이다.

아울러 2023년에는 청소년·횡성군관광시설 이용객과 인근지역인 원주·홍천·영월·평창 주민들을 대상으로는 20% 할인을 실시 이용만족도를 더욱 높일 계획이다.  운영에 관한 자세한사항은 횡성루지체험장 사무실 또는 홈페이지에서 확인 할 수 있다.
