[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 포천시는 지난 22일 코로나19로 침체되었던 국제교류를 활성화하기 위해 ‘2022년 포천시-호쿠토시 화상회의’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이날 회의에서는 백영현 포천시장과 카미무라 에이지 호쿠토시장, 윤희찬 총영사의 인사말씀을 나누고, 2023년 호쿠토시에서 포천시로 예방 계획 의견을 나눴으며, 향후 양 도시는 교류 20주년을 맞아 의미있는 기념사업 추진에 의견을 같이했다.
카미무라 에이지 호쿠토시장은 “제8대 백영현 포천시장님의 취임을 진심으로 축하드린다. 내년에는 포천시를 방문해 직접 인사드릴 수 있으면 좋겠다.”고 전했다.
윤희찬 총영사는 “양 도시 시장의 화상회의에 초대해주셔서 영광이다.”면서 “하루라도 빨리 양 도시 대표단이 직접 만나 따뜻한 우정을 나눌 수 있기를 희망한다.”고 말했다.
한편, 포천시와 호쿠토시는 지난 2003년 자매결연을 맺은 후 포천국제청소년문화체험행사, 상호 교환공무원 파견, 축제 방문 및 축하공연 등 활발한 교류를 진행했다.
