[남상훈 기자 = 횡성군] 지난 26일 김명기 횡성군수는 청소년수련관에서 새로운 아동친화도시 조성을 위해 아이들의 목소리를 통한 눈높이에 맞는 아동정책을 발굴하고자 ‘아동정책 토론회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 토론회는 공개모집 및 참여기구에서 활동하는 아동·청소년 60여 명이 참여했다. 퀴즈 방식으로 아이들의 참여율을 높이고, 자유롭게 자신의 의견과 생각을 제안하는 자리로 마련됐다. 제안된 정책들은 오는 2024~2028년 새로운 아동친화도시 조성을 위한 추진계획 및 전략과제 선정을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 예정이다.

군은 토론회 주제를 지난 9월, 이번달 초 2차례 총 1,500여 명을 대상으로 아동 친화도시 6개(⯈놀이와 여가, ⯈참여와 시민의식, ⯈안전과 보호, ⯈보건과 사회서비스, ⯈교육환경, ⯈주거환경) 영역에 대한 온라인 설문조사·주민의견수렴 결과를 통해 선정했다.

한편, 횡성군은 지난 2020년 2월 강원도 최초로 유니세프 아동친화도시 인증을 받아 도내에서 유일하게 아동 중심의 다양한 사업을 추진하고 있으며, 오는 2024년 상위단계 인증을 앞두고 있다.

김명기 횡성군수는 "아동·청소년들이 지역사회에 관한 관심을 가지고 자신과 관련된 의사결정 과정에 직접 참여할 수 있는 기회의 장이었었으며, 이번 토론회를 통해 제안된 아동정책에 대하여 행정에 적극적으로 반영할 것"이라고 말했다.
