[남상훈 기자 = 횡성] 오는 6월 12일까지 (재)횡성인재육성장학회는 2023년 1학기 대학생 등록금 지원 신청을 온라인으로 접수 받는다고 밝혔다.

지원 대상은 등록금 지급기준일인 내달 12일, 학생 또는 학생의 보호자가 3년 이상 계속해서 횡성군에 주소를 두고 실거주하고 있는 만 30세 미만의 국가장학금을 신청한 학생으로 접수에 대한 자세한 사항은 횡성인재장학회 누리집를 참고하거나 횡성인재장학회 사무국으로 문의하면 된다.

특히 올해부터는 국가장학금 등 타 지원금을 제외한 실제 본인이 납부한 금액의 50%만 지원하던 것을 전액 지원으로 확대해 지급할 계획이다. 상한선은 학기별 300만원이다.

한편, 대학생 등록금 지원 사업은 2022년 1, 2학기 총 704명에 693백만원을 지급해 횡성군민의 교육비 부담을 해소하고, 정주 여건을 개선하는데 일조하여 지역의 큰 호응을 얻었다.

김명기 횡성군수는 “연 최대 600만원 등록금 지원으로 안정적인 교육여건을 조성하여 명품 교육도시 횡성군의 인재들이 경제적 어려움으로 학업을 포기하는 일이 없도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
