[남상훈 기자 = 포천시] 지난 1일 백영현 포천시장은 포천체육공원에 마련된 상설무대에서 진행된 ‘2022년 포천시 이웃돕기 모금 생방송’에서 100인 나눔 릴레이에 1호로 참여했다고 밝혔다.

‘더 큰 나눔, 더 큰 행복’의 슬로건으로 실시된 방송모금 행사에  백영현 포천시장, 포천시의회 서과석 의장 및 시의원, 도의원, 포천상공회의소장을 비롯해 주요기업대표, 읍면동 기관단체장 등이 참여했다. 행사는 경기북부 사랑의열매와 LG헬로비전이 공동으로 주관하고 포천시와 포천시지역사회보장협의체가 후원해 진행했다. 

아울러 생방송 모금 확대를 위한 ‘100인의 나눔 릴레이’에 백영현 포천시장이 1호로 참여했다. 릴레이는 이민형 포천상공회의소장과 각계각층의 시민들이 참여해 당초 목표했던 모금액 2억 5천만 원을 초과 달성했다.

더불어 포천시 공무원들은 급여 중 천 원 미만을 공제해 적립한 우수리모금과 간부공무원 및 부서별 모금을 모아 전달했다. 또한 포천시 소상공인들이 제조한 건강식품을 가지고 꾸러미를 꾸려 어려운 이웃들에게 전달하는 등 소상공인과 이웃을 돕는 일석이조의 나눔 활동을 펼쳤다.

한편, 방송으로 모금한 소중한 성금은 위기상황에 놓인 취약계층과 장애인·아동·청소년·노인 등을 대상으로 생활비·의료비·교육비 등 다양한 복지사업에 사용할 예정이다. 

백영현 포천시장은 “우리 시는 소외된 이웃이 없는 따뜻한 지역공동체를 지향하고, 연말연시를 맞아 도움의 손길이 닿지 못하는 이웃을 돕고자 방송모금을 진행하게 되었다.”면서 “더 큰 나눔으로 포천시가 따뜻하고 행복한 도시가 될 수 있도록 노력하겠다.” 고 말했다.
