[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 1월 26일 동두천시는 동두천감리교회에서 600만 원 상당의 이웃돕기 백미 10kg 170포를 기탁했다고 밝혔다.

동두천감리교회는 관내 지역에 거주하는 취약계층을 위한 나눔 및 기부를 꾸준히 실천하고 있다고 했다.

이양로 동두천감리교회 목사는 “코로나19 장기화로 인해 모두가 힘든 시기를 보내고 있다. 이번 백미 기부로 관내 어려운 이웃들이 설 명절을 보내는데 조금이나마 도움이 되기를 바란다”고 전했다. 

동두천시 관계자는 “항상 따뜻한 나눔을 실천해주셔서 감사하다. 기부해주신 백미는 도움이 필요한 곳에 잘 전달하도록 하겠다”고 전했다.
