[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 9월 30일부터 10월 4일까지 5일간 횡성군이 주최하고 횡성문화재단이 주관하는 제18회 횡성한우축제가 횡성종합운동장 일원에서 3년 만에 오프라인축제로 개최된다고 밝혔다.

올해 횡성한우축제는 기존 축제장의 국가하천 정비사업으로 인하여 사용이 어려워져 횡성종합운동장에서 개최하게 됐으며 수려한 섬강의 경관을 감상하며 축제를 즐기지 못하는 것은 아쉽지만 3년간 기다려온 군민의 기대에 부응하기 위해 운동장 일원의 시설물과 주변 환경을 최대한 고려하여 축제장을 만들고 어느 해 보다도 풍성한 프로그램을 구성하고자 많은 노력을 기울였다.

종합운동장 잔디구장에는 1만석 이상을 수용할 수 있는 대규모 무대가 조성되어 축제의 허브로 자리 잡게 되며 이 무대에서 펼쳐질 개·폐막식에서는 2018 평창동계올림픽의 감동을 재현할 드론퍼포먼스가 펼쳐지고 장윤정, 김희재, 박혜원, 장민호, 홍자, 최정원, 홍지민 등의 정상급 인기가수들과 지역문화예술단체 등 다양한 장르의 출연진이 무대에 올라 횡성군을 뜨겁게 달굴 예정이다. 

축제장 곳곳에는 다채로운 볼거리와 즐길거리가 펼쳐지며 축제장의 메인 시설물인 주제관은 운동장 남문과 동문사이 입구에 위치하고 축제의 관문으로 방문객들을 맞이하며 주제관에는 횡성한우와 축제의 역사, 정보를 한 눈에 감상할 수 있는 전시공간을 비롯해 종합안내소, 기념품샵, 인생네컷 사진관, 케치한우리 등 체험부스, 의료부스 등이 들어선다. 

풋살장은 아이들과 추억을 쌓을 수 있는 키즈존을 조성하여 아이를 동반한 가족단위 방문객들이 여유롭게 휴식을 취하며 즐거움을 만끽할 수 있으며 밤을 화려하게 수놓을 별빛예술제, 지역 시각·문학예술단체들이 선보이는 거리예술제, 횡성군 9개 읍·면을 상징하는 설치미술존, 다채로운 체험부스 등도 관심이 모아진다.

횡성한우축제의 백미는 단연 먹거리로 축제장은 횡성한우구이터와 횡성한우바베큐존, 로컬푸드존, 식당부스 등으로 가득 채워지며 명실상부 대한민국 최고의 품질과 맛을 자랑하는 횡성한우를 맛볼 수 있는 횡성한우구이터가 축제장의 메인 먹거리 시설물로 자리 잡고 이번 축제에는 횡성축산업협동조합, 횡성농축산물유통사업단, 횡성한우협동조합 등 횡성군을 대표하는 횡성한우 생산자단체 3곳이 모두 참여해 각각 구이터를 운영해 기대를 모은다. 

축산기업중앙회 횡성군지부는 최초로 선보이게 되는 ‘횡성한우바베큐존’을 운영하여 횡성한우를 이용한 다채로운 바베큐, 조리음식을 판매해 큰 호응을 얻을 것으로 예상되며 인라인스케이트장은 지역 농·특산물이 한자리에 펼쳐지는 로컬푸드존으로 꾸며진다. 지역 전문식당 부스들도 참여해 다양한 음식을 판매한다.
