[남상훈 기자 = 의정부] 지난 29일 김동근 의정부시장은 호우특보 발효에 따라 즉각 관내 침수 취약가구와 방재시설물 등에 대한 긴급 현장점검에 나섰다고 밝혔다.

당초 김동근 시장은 이날 오전 취임 1주년 기자회견을 진행할 예정이었으나, 집중호우에 따른 호우특보 발령으로 전격 취소하고 피해 우려지역에 대한 예찰 활동에 나섰다.

먼저, 구 의정부3동 배수펌프장을 방문해 배수펌프장 기계설비 가동상태와 호우특보에 따른 비상근무 상태를 점검했다. 또한 지난해 8월 집중호우로 유실된 호원동 사면을 확인하고 추가 안전조치를 지시했다. 이어 지난해 침수피해를 입었던 송산1동 반지하 밀집지역을 찾아 침수방지시설(역지변, 차수판) 설치 가구들을 꼼꼼히 살피며 재발 방지를 주문했다. 이 밖에도 김동근 시장은 침수취약 도로인 장암동 스포츠센터 일대와 호원동 S커브, 녹양사거리 현장에도 나가 도로 상태를 면밀히 점검했다.
