[남상훈 기자 = 의정부] 지난 30일 김동근 의정부시장이 자생 단체 회원, 공무원 등 총 200여 명과 함께 송산3동 새봄맞이 한마음 일제 대청소에 동참했다고 밝혔다.

이번 새봄맞이 대청소는 코로나19로 4년 만에 재개됐다. 효율적이고 내실 있게 진행하기 위해 민락2지구 로데오거리, 잎새어린이공원, 삼현초등학교 부근, 송양초등학교 부근, 귀락천, 차뜨락 올라가는 길, 코스트코코리아 의정부점 일원 총 7개 코스로 나눠 진행했다.

김 시장은 자생 단체 회원 및 직원들과 ‘쾌적한 동네를 위한 오늘의 한걸음’이라고 쓰인 어깨띠를 두르고 집게와 봉투를 든 채 새봄맞이 일제 대청소에 동참했다. 동부권 쓰레기 특별관리지역인 민락2지구 로데오거리 인근 총 3,000m 도로와 공공시설물 주변의 쓰레기를 수거하고 무단투기 근절을 홍보했다.

한 자생 단체 회원은 “깨끗한 민락2지구 이미지에 도움이 될 기회가 있어 기쁘다”며, “앞으로도 이웃을 위한 봉사활동을 하며 우리 지역사회 내에서 보탬이 되고자 한다”고 말했다.
