[남상훈 기자 = 의정부시] 지난 9일 안동광 의정부시 부시장은 겨울철 취약계층 발굴·지원 대책 수립 등 의정부시 현행 체계를 점검하고 이를 통한 실제적인 복지사각지대 발굴과 지원을 위한 대책을 논의하기 위해 민·관 관계부처 합동 간담회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

안동광 부시장 주재로 해당 업무과장, 동 보건복지팀장 및 경찰서, 소방서 등 유관기관 관계자 등 20명이 참석한 이번 간담회를 통해 겨울철을 맞아 12월부터 내년 2월까지 3개월간을 ‘겨울철 복지사각지대 집중 발굴 기간’으로 정하고 의정부시 겨울철 취약계층 발굴 및 지원계획을 수립해 제공할 방침이다.

또한, 희망복지지원단, 14개 동 주민센터, 동 지역사회보장협의체, 명예사회복지공무원 등 지역사회 인적 안전망을 활용해 고위험군 가구를 집중적으로 발굴하고 지원할 예정이며, 특히 이웃을 통한 발굴 및 제보가 절실히 필요하므로 적극적인 홍보를 통해 주변을 더욱 꼼꼼히 살필 계획이다.

김동근 의정부시장은 “복지사각지대 해소는 공공의 노력만으로는 한계가 있다”며, “의정부시는 시민이 이웃에 대한 관심을 두고 서로 도움을 주고받는 공동체와 나눔 문화를 확산하기 위해 노력하고 있다”며, “지역사회와의 연대를 통해 더 새롭고 적극적인 행정서비스를 제공해 어느 한 사람도 소외되지 않는 든든한 사회안전망 역할을 해주시기를 바란다”고 당부했다.
