[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 10월 21일 의정부시 흥선동 마을복지계획 추진단은 100일간 사랑릴레이 배턴 잇기 일환으로 한국전력공사 경기북부지역본부에서 지원을 받아 의정부경찰서와 흥선동 거주 범죄 취약가구에 안전 방범창을 지원‧설치한다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 의정부경찰서와 한국전력공사 경기북부지역본부가 업무협약을 통해 범죄 취약계층이 범죄로부터 안전한 환경에서 생활할 수 있도록 안전 방범창을 지원‧설치 하였으며, 의정부경찰서는 2019년부터 현재까지 범죄 취약가구 20가구에 안전 방범창을 지원‧설치했다고 했다.

지원 대상자는 “노후화된 주택이 많고 주변에 CCTV가 없어서 불안했는데 방범창을 설치해주셔서 감사드리고 이전보다 안전하게 지낼 수 있어서 안심이 된다”고 말했다.

의정부경찰서 담당자는 “범죄 취약계층에 대한 사전 범죄예방 진단과 환경개선을 실시하고, 여러 기관‧단체와 공동체 협업 치안을 통해 지역주민이 안전한 환경에서 생활할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
