[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 의정부시는 지난 7월 9일 의정부경찰서, 한국교통안전공단 경기북부본부와 합동으로 송양고등학교 앞 도로에서 2시간 동안 이륜차 불법개조 주말 단속을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이날은 소음방지 장치 불법 개조, 안전기준 위반 및 번호판 불량 이륜차가 주로 적발됐다.

단속 실적은 불법튜닝 3건, 안전기준 위반에 해당하는 LED 임의 개조 및 번호등 고장 등 13건, 등록번호판 관리 소홀 5건 등 총 20대, 21건으로 자동차관리법 제10조, 제29조, 제34조에 따라 행정처분 및 형사입건이 이루어질 예정이다.

이재철 교통지도과장은 “이륜차 불법 개조 등으로 인해 사고가 나면 운전자뿐만 아니라 우리 모두의 안전에도 위협이 될 수 있으니 관계기관과 공조해 지속적으로 집중 단속을 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.
