[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 9월 15일 속초시는 아동에 대한 체벌을 금지하고 아동이 안전한 속초를 만들기 위한 아동학대 예방 'NO HIT ZONE' 캠페인을 만천삼거리에서 유관기관 합동으로 실시했다고 밝혔다.

'NO HIT ZONE'은 아동에 대한 신체적, 정서적 체벌을 금지하는 장소로 보호자 스스로 체벌을 가하지 않겠다고 다짐하고 아동은 안전하다고 느끼는 안심 구역을 뜻하는 것으로 가정은 물론 학교, 학원 등 아동이 있는 곳은 어디든 안전한 곳으로 만들자는 의미로 추진하는 캠페인이다.

이번 캠페인은 민법 제915조 자녀 징계권 폐지를 알리는 의미에서 9월 15일에 진행하였으며, 속초시와 속초시의회, 속초경찰서, 속초 양양 교육지원청, 속초시 학부모연합회, 속초시 어린이집연합회, 속초시 학원연합회 총 7개 기관장 및 협회장과 회원들이 함께 참여했다. 

이날 캠페인 참여자들은 각 기관에서 제작한 아동학대 예방 및 긍정 양육 리플릿을 시민들에게 제공하며 NO HIT ZONE 동참을 홍보했으며 속초시는 거리 캠페인을 시작으로 유관기관 홈페이지와 각종 SNS, 버스정보시스템, 학교정보 알림앱 등 다양한 방식으로 온라인 홍보도 이어나갈 계획이다.

속초시 관계자는“이번 캠페인을 통해‘HIT(때리다)’라는 단어를 직접적으로 노출함으로써 아동학대에 대한 경각심을 고취시키고, 앞으로도 유관기관과 협력해 아동이 안전하게 보호받을 수 있는 속초를 만들기 위해 노력하겠다.”라고 전했다.
