[남상훈 기자 = 포천시] 지난 3일 백영현 포천시장은 업무협약식을 개최해 차의과학대학교와 함께 포천시의 지역경쟁력 강화와 시민들의 전문교육을 위한 성공적인 협력체계 구축과 상생발전 위한 협약을 체결했다.
행사에는 백 시장을 비롯해 차의과학대학교 김동익 총장, 포천시의회 서과석 의장, 관계자 등 16명이 참석했다.
협약의 주요 내용은 지역사회 발전 및 대학의 교육·연구에 대한 협력, 평생교육 및 대학생 멘토 등 교육지원사업 추진, 지역사회 협력·공헌 프로그램 개발 및 운영, 상생협력을 위한 행정지원 등을 포함한다.
김동익 총장은 “포천시와 협력관계를 맺게 되어 매우 기쁘다. 앞으로 적극 소통하며 협조해 차의과학대학교가 지역인재 양성의 요람으로 자리매김하도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.
백영현 포천시장은 “학령인구 감소와 지역소멸이라는 위기에 대처하기 위해 지자체와 대학의 협력이 절실히 필요한 때 포천시와 차의과학대학교 양 기관이 뜻깊은 자리를 가지게 되었다. 우리 시가 품격있는 인문도시, 평생직업교육의 거점도시로 거듭날 수 있도록 차의과대학교와 한뜻이 되어 최선을 다할 것”이라고 전했다.
