[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 11월 17일 의정부시 의정부1동주민센터는 관내 기관·단체의 지원으로 연탄을 난방으로 사용하는 관내 취약계층 4가구에 연탄 1,000장을 전달했다고 밝혔다.

이날 연탄 나눔은 한국전력공사 경기북부지역본부의 후원으로 이루어 졌으며, 의정부경찰서 생활안전협의회와 의정부1동 통장협의회까지 힘을 보태어 30여 명이 행사에 참여했다고 전했다.

연탄을 지원받은 위○○님은 “추워진 날씨에 많은 분들이 도움을 보내주어 감사드리며, 덕분에 올 겨울 따뜻하게 날 수 있겠다”고 말했다.

정준모 의정부1동장은 “한마음 한뜻으로 지속적인 나눔 활동을 실천해주시는 기관·단체분들께 감사드리며, 그 마음이 이웃에게 잘 전달되어 따뜻한 의정부1동이 되기를 바란다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 한국전력공사는 2019년에도 연탄 1,300장을 기탁해 따뜻한 마음을 나누었으며, 또한 2020년에도 코로나19 바이러스 확산으로 마스크 2,000장을 기탁한 바 있다고 밝혔다.
