[남상훈 기자 = 의정부시] 3일 김동근 의정부시장이 ‘3월 미래가치 공유의 날’에 명예사회복지공무원 활동 유공 표창을 수여했다고 밝혔다.

이번 명예사회복지공무원 활동 유공 표창은 어려움에 부닥친 위기 이웃을 적극적으로 발굴해 의정부시의 복지 사각지대 해소에 이바지한 공이 큰 유공자를 선정해 명예사회복지공무원으로서의 자긍심을 고취하고 지속적인 활동을 장려하기 위해 올해 처음 신규 포상으로 수여됐다.

이번 명예사회복지공무원 활동 유공자로는 주변의 소외계층을 돕기 위해 부단히 애쓰신 송산3동 김영숙 통장을 비롯해, 신곡1동 김재숙 통장, 호원1동 전현주 통장이 영예로운 수상자로 선정됐다.

김동근 의정부시장은  “이웃끼리 서로 도와 살기 좋은 의정부를 만들어가고 계신 명예사회복지공무원분들에게 감사드린다”며,  “앞으로도 복지 사각지대 없는 의정부를 만들기 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 명예사회복지공무원이란 일상생활 중 위기가구를 발견한 경우, 동주민센터 복지담당자에게 신속하게 제보하고, 위기 이웃에게 복지정보를 제공하는 무보수·명예직의 지역주민을 말한다. 상시 모집 중으로 가입을 희망하는 자는 인근 동주민센터 보건복지팀에 문의해 신청서류를 제출하면 된다.
