사물주소는 버스정류장, 택시승강장 및 지진옥외대피장소, 공원, 육교승강기 등 건물이 아닌 시설물에 주소를 부여한 것으로, 시설물 위치를 쉽게 하는 것은 물론, 위급상황 발생 시 정확한 위치 정보를 제공해 소방서 및 경찰서 등 관련기관에서 신속한 대처가 가능하다고 했다.

시 관계자는 “앞으로도 사물주소판의 지속적인 설치를 통해  시민 생활 편의와 안전을 위해 힘쓰겠다.”면서 “올해에는 비상급수시설 및 인명 구조함에 사물주소를 확대 부여하고 사물주소판을 추가 설치할 예정이다.”라고 밝혔다.
