[김준호 기자=동해시] 심규언시장은 신년사에서 새해 첫 일출에 담은 소망만큼 시민 여러분의 건강과 행복이 가득하고, 뜻하신 모든 일 다 이루시는 복된 한 해 되시길 기원한다고 밝혔다.

심시장은, "628년간 이어져 오던 강원도란 이름에 특별자치도라는 변화라는 역사적 전환점을 우리 동해시와 어떻게 접목하여 어떤 기회 요소를 이끌어 내느냐에 따라 동해시의 미래가 좌우될 수도 있다."고 했다.
