지난 2019년 생활SOC복합화사업에 선정된 통합가족센터 '품'은 총 61억 원의 사업비가 투입되어 입암동 462번지 일원에 연면적 1,466㎡, 지상 2층, 지하 1층 규모로 건축되어 오는 2023년 7월 준공 예정이라고 했다.

1층에는 공동육아나눔터, 다목적소통실, 공동체카페, 공동체부엌 등 다목적 가족소통·교류공간을 마련하고, 2층에는 다문화특화작은도서관, 언어발달교실, 이중언어교육교실, 다목적교육실과 강의실을 조성하여 전 세대를 아우르는 다양한 가족형태별 교육을 제공할 계획이며, 지하 1층은 강릉시 가족센터 사무실과 각종 상담실로써 가족 상담 등 맞춤형 가족 서비스 제공 공간으로 조성되어 가족 정책 활성화에 기여할 전망이라고 전했다.

강릉시 관계자는 “통합가족센터 '품'은 복합생활 복지 공간으로서 시민의 삶의 질을 향상시키는 강릉시 가족정책의 랜드마크로 자리매김할 것으로 기대된다.”고 말했다.
