[김현우 기자 = 동두천] 동두천시는 21일 시내 주요 도로와 상습 결빙지역에 대해 자체 보유한 제설장비를 총동원해 밤샘 제설작업을 실시했다고 밝혔다. 

새벽부터 강한 눈이 내려 시민의 통행이 어려워지자 빙판길 낙상사고를 예방하기 위해 보도용 제설기 및 손수레 살포기를 적극 활용하여 인력제설이 필요한 보도 및 이면도로에 시청의 필수 요원을 제외한 전 직원을 동원하여 신속히 제설작업을 펼쳤다.

박형덕 동두천시장은 “시민이 안전하게 다닐 수 있도록 시청 공무원들이 솔선수범하여 골목길 제설작업에 최선을 다하고 있다”라며 “빠른 시일 내에 복구할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”라고 말했다.
