[남상훈 기자 = 의정부] 지난 23일 의정부시 박영애 도서관과장이 국립중앙도서관 국제회의장에서 20여 년간 도서관 공간 혁신을 통해 도서관의 다양한 가치를 알리고 있는 공로를 인정받아 도서관계 최고 권위 있는 ‘한국도서관상’을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

한국도서관상은 도서관 발전에 공적이 현저한 개인 또는 단체를 표창해 공로를 치하하고 도서관 발전에 대한 의욕을 고취하고자 지난 1969년부터 제정해 매년 시상하고 있는 도서관계 권위 있는 최고의 상이다.

이번 제55회 한국도서관상은 국립중앙도서관 국제회의장에서 개최됐다. 전국의 국공립공공도서관, 학교도서관, 대학도서관, 전문도서관, 학술도서관 등 도서관계 협의회에서 10년 이상의 도서관 발전을 위해 공적이 큰 수상 후보자를 추천받아 표창심사위원회 및 이사회의 의결을 통해 개인 8명과 단체 10개 도서관에 시상했다.

박영애 도서관과장은 시민들에게 도서관의 다양한 가치는 공간에서부터 시작된다는 확신으로 도서관 공간 혁신을 위해 끊임없이 노력해 왔다. 특히 전국적으로 주목받고 있는 의정부미술도서관, 의정부음악도서관은 의정부시의 예술문화자원을 연결해 도서관의 새로운 패러다임을 제시했다는 평가를 받고 있다. 아울러 의정부미술도서관은 지난 2019년 국가균형발전 우수사례·2020년 한국건축문화대상 우수상·한국문화공간상을 수상을 통해 의정부시의 가치를 높이기도 했다.
