[남상훈 기자 = 포천] 지난 8일 백영현 포천시장은 ‘2023년 1분기 소비자정책심의위원회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다. 

포천시 소비자정책심의위원회는 시 관여요금 및 사용료·수수료와 소비자보호 및 물가안정 시책 등에 필요한 사항을 자문·심의·조정하는 기구다. 구성원은 경제 및 소비자 관련 분야의 경험이 풍부한 전문가와 공무원 등 13명이다.

지난 8일 개최된 1분기 소비자정책심의위원회의 안건은 2건으로 포천시 환경자원센터 내 주민편익시설 사용료 및 가축분뇨 수집·운반 수수료의 적정성에 대해 다른 지방자치단체의 운영 사례를 비교·검토하는 등 심도있는 논의와 의견 수렴이 이뤄졌다.

위원장인 백영현 포천시장은 “물가상승률이 9개월째 연속 5%대를 기록중이다. 공공요금 인상으로 인해 어려움을 겪고 있는 가계의 경제적 부담을 줄이고, 소비생활이 안정될 수 있도록 심의위원회의 역할이 중요하다.”고 강조했다.
