[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 27일 의정부시 흥선동행정복지센터는 연말연시를 맞아 흥선동새마을부녀회에서 독거어르신 100가구에 만둣국 밀키트를 전달했다고 밝혔다.
이번 나눔 활동은 흥선동 새마을부녀회, 흥선동 지역사회보장협의체, 흥선동 마을복지계획 추진단, 흥선동 명예사회복지공무원 등 위원들이 참여해 2인 1조로 팀을 이뤄 어르신 댁에 방문했으며, 코로나 상황인 점을 감안해 방역수칙을 꼼꼼히 준수하며 어르신들의 안부를 살폈다고 했다.
정미자 새마을부녀회 회장은 “겨울철 추운 날씨와 코로나로 힘든 어르신들이 건강하고 따뜻하게 보내시기 바란다”며 “앞으로도 사각지대에 놓은 어르신과 취약계층을 위해 봉사활동에 앞장서겠다”고 말했다.
유준영 흥선동 복지지원과장은 “코로나로 위축됐던 마을 공동체를 회복하는 계기가 되고 어르신들이 건강하고 따뜻한 겨울나기를 위해 공공과 민간이 협력하여 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편 흥선동새마을부녀회는 정기적인 바자회 수익금으로 장학금, 김장김치, 삼계탕 행사, 경로잔치 등 지속적인 나눔 활동을 통해 지역 사회복지 실천에 앞장서고 있다고 했다.
