[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 2월 4일 동두천시 중앙동행정복지센터는 이전까지 없었던 새로운 방법으로 복지사각지대 발굴을 시도한다고 밝혔다.

새로운 방법이란 복권판매점과 연계해 위기상황과 생활고에 놓여 있는 복지사각지대를 선제적으로 발굴하는 것으로, 상대적으로 저소득 주민이 많이 찾으면서도 발굴 효과가 높을 것으로 예상되는 곳이 복권판매점이라는 것을 착안해 추진을 결정했다고 전했다.

중앙동행정복지센터는 관련 복지사각지대 발굴계획을 발 빠르게 수립했으며, 관내 5개소의 복권판매점을 대상으로 오는 2월 14일부터 12월 31일까지 정기적인 출장과 업무 협의를 추진하여 적극적으로 위기가구를 찾아 보호할 계획이라고 했다.

이춘우 중앙동장은 “현재의 어려움에서 벗어나기 위해 복권을 구매하는 주민이 많을 것으로 추정된다. 복권판매점과의 굳건한 협력을 통해 제보된 모든 분들과 별도의 상담을 실시하고 통합 지원하겠다.”고 말했다.
