[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 14일부터 15일까지 의정부시 녹양동지역사회보장협의체와 명예사회복지공무원은 연말을 맞이해 이틀 동안 겨울철 복지사각지대에 있는 위기가구 지원을 위한 일촌맺기 및 해피박스 전달 등 봉사활동으로 주위를 훈훈하게 했다고 밝혔다.

일촌맺기와 해피박스 사업은 녹양동 지역사회보장협의체가 추진하는 특화사업으로 그 중 일촌맺기는 지난 9월부터 명예사회복지공무원 31명과 함께 독거노인과 조손가구에게 매주 1회 안부 확인 및 월 1회 가정방문을 하는 고독사 예방사업이며, 해피박스는 명절과 연말을 맞아 사회적으로 고립된 취약가정에게 식료품이 가득한 상자를 전달하는 사업이라고 했다.

이번 행사에는 버들개초등학교 손뜨개 학부모 동아리가 손수 짜서 기부해준 털목도리와 함께 14일은 소고기, 15일에는 떡만둣국을 준비하여 독거노인, 한부모가정 등 어려움을 겪고 있는 복지사각지대 위기가구에 전달했다고 전했다.

김충식 지역사회보장협의체 위원장은 “모두가 힘든 요즘 해피박스를 받고 기뻐할 우리 이웃들의 얼굴에 우리의 작은 수고가 누군가에게 희망과 위안이 된다는 것이 지속적인 봉사활동을 하는 힘이 된다”고 밝혔다.
