[남상훈 기자 = 의정부] 지난 17일 김동근 의정부시장이 의정부실내체육관에서 열린 ‘제 10회 경기도발달장애인가족 체육대회’에 참석했다고 밝혔다.
경기도발달장애인스포츠연맹이 주최하고 사단법인 한국장애인부모회 경기도지회 및 의정부시지부 주관으로 개최된 경기도발달장애인가족 체육대회는 도 내 20개 한국장애인부모회 지부 회원과 자녀 등 1천여 명이 참가했다.
의정부시장애인드론활용협회의 드론공연과 한국장애인부모회 의정부시지부의 라인댄스 공연을 시작으로 열린 체육대회에는 슐런, 훌라후프, 디스크 골프, 킨볼, 이어달리기, 박 터트리기 등 6개 종목의 경기가 진행됐다. 이후에는 자전거, 백미, 각종 생필품 등 푸짐한 경품 추첨이 있었다.
김순화 사단법인 한국장애인부모회 경기도지회장은 “그동안 코로나로 인해서 모여 맘껏 즐기고 뛰어놀 기회가 적었지만, 앞으로 이런 기회가 더 많아져야 한다고 생각했다”며, “앞으로 스포츠연맹 활동을 활성화하여 다양한 체육활동을 할 수 있도록 지원하겠다”고 전했다.
김동근 시장은 환영사를 통해 “의정부시에 오신 경기도 20여 개 시군 발달장애인과 부모님들 모두 진심으로 환영한다”며, “항상 장애인과 비장애인이 함께하는 행복한 의정부시를 만들기 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
