[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 가평군농업기술센터는 지난 8일, 돌발병해충의 확산방지를 위해 북면 백둔리 일원에서 협업방제 연시회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 연시회는 농업인 독려와 방제효과 극대화를 위하여 산림과, 농업정책과 및 농업인이 함께 진행하였으며, 과원 및 산림지에 전용약제를 살포하였다. 

군은 돌발병해충이 부화하는 시기인 지난 5월 30일~6월 10일을 ‘공동방제기간’으로 지정하고 과수 313.8ha를 방제할 수 있는 돌발병해충 약제를 공급하였다.

돌발병해충이란, 기후변화, 작부체계 다양화 등의 환경변화로 인해 돌발적으로 발생되어 농작물에 피해를 주는 토착 또는 외래병해충(갈색날개매미충, 미국선녀벌레, 꽃매미 등)을 말한다. 

이와 같은 병해충은 가지의 즙액을 빨아 가지를 고사시키거나 분비물로 과일이나 잎에 그을음병 등을 유발해 상품성을 떨어뜨리기 때문에 농가에 많은 피해를 줄 수 있기에 적극적인 방제가 요구된다고 했다.

가평군농업기술센터 장동규 농업기술센터소장은 “월동기부터 사전 예찰을 통해 병해충 발생 상황을 예측하고 부화시기 등 정보를 데이터베이스화 하여 돌발병해충의 효율적인 방제를 시행 중”이며, 덧붙여 “농가들의 자발적인 방역이 중요한 만큼 적기에 공동방제를 당부 드린다”고 말했다.
