[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 2월 17일 오전 10시, 횡성군은 군수 집무실에서 횡성군산림조합과 '횡성 청일 선도 산림경영단지'조성을 위한 업무협약식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 업무협약식에는 장신상 군수, 양재관 횡성군산림조합장 및 관계자 등이 참여했다고 전했다.

군은 2022년부터 오는 2031년까지 10년간 75억원의 사업비를 투입하여 청일면 갑천리 712ha(150필지, 산주 117명)의 사유림에 임도 개설, 임목수확, 조림 사업, 숲 가꾸기사업, 특화임산물 재배단지 조성 등 산림사업을 집중 투자하여 선도 산림경영단지로 조성할 계획이며, 2022년에는 정밀산림조사를 통한 단지 운영 기본계획 및 산림경영계획을 수립하고, 오는 2023년부터 본격적인 사업에 착수한다고 밝혔다. 

선도 산림경영단지는 사유림 규모의 영세성과 임업의 장기성 극복을 위해 경영 면적을 규모화·집단화하고, 투자 집중을 통하여 산림경영 성공모델을 개발·확산하고자 공모를 통해 선정·운영하는 산림경영의 선도 모델단지로, 횡성 청일 선도 산림경영단지는 지난 2021년 산림청 공모사업으로 선정되었다고 했다.

횡성군은 기본계획 수립, 횡성군산림조합은 산주의 동의를 받아 대리경영 방식으로 사업 추진하되, 산주·지역 주민·전문가 등이 포함된 운영협의회를 구성하여 기본계획 수립부터 사업 추진 전 과정에 참여함으로써 자율적 경영조직으로 육성하여 사업 기간 종료 후에도 단지 경영이 지속될 수 있도록 한다는 방침이라고 전했다.

김종선 산림녹지과장은 “선도 산림경영단지 조성으로 우리 군의 산림자원을 어떻게 활용할지에 대한 모범답안을 제시하고자 한다. 또한, 산촌 소득원 개발 및 일자리 창출, 산림의 공익기능 증진을 통한 주민 삶의 질 향상을 기대할 수 있을 것이다.”라고 밝혔다.
