[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 20일, 동두천시가 지난 4월 시작한 코로나19 예방접종센터 운영을 이달 말 마무리한다고 밝혔다. 

시는 그동안 지역 민간의료기관에 코로나19 예방접종 체계가 안정적으로 정착하기 전까지 고위험 대상군의 신속한 접종을 위해 지난 4월말부터 예방접종센터를 운영해 왔으며, 효율적이고 안전한 접종 완료라는 목표 아래 동두천시 전 부서의 협업을 바탕으로 진행됐다고 했다.

뿐만 아니라 동두천시의사회·간호사회, 경찰서, 군부대 등 유관기관과 긴밀한 협조를 통해 백신을 안전하게 접종·운반·관리했으며, 동두천소방서의 전문인력과 구급차를 지원받아 신속하게 이상 반응에 대응할 수 있었고, 동두천시자원봉사센터 소속 자원봉사자들의 헌신적인 봉사활동을 통해 고령 어르신, 중증장애인 대상자 등이 편안히 안내를 받으며 안전하게 접종을 마쳤다고 전했다. 

시에 따르면 지난 20일 기준 동두천시 코로나19 1차 접종자는 75,930명(81.4%), 2차 접종자는 65,067명(69.7%)이다. 이 가운데 시민회관에 마련된 예방접종센터를 통한 접종자 수는 1차와 2차 접종을 포함하여 37,194명이고, 이중 얀센백신을 접종한 외국인은 1,310명으로 집계됐고, 시는 예방접종센터 운영을 종료함에 따른 시민들의 불편을 최소화하기 위해 민간 의료기관 31개소와 접종 위탁계약을 추진해 왔으며, 11월 이후 접종에 대하여는 민간 의료기관 또는 보건소로 이관 완료된 상태이라고 했다.

최용덕 시장은 “임산부와 12~17세 소아·청소년, 18세 이상 미접종자, 추가 접종자 등 4분기 백신 접종 대상자들은 건강보험 가입 여부와 관계없이 지역 내 위탁의료기관에서 접종받을 수 있다”며 “코로나19가 종료되는 날까지 백신접종이 안전하게 이뤄질 수 있도록 철저히 관리하겠다”고 전했다.
