[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 가평군은 한국환경공단에서 평가하는 ‘21년도 악취기술진단 완료시설 운영관리평가에서 신천공공하수처리시설이Ⅰ그룹(하·폐수처리시설) 117개 시설 중 우수시설로 선정됐다고 15일 밝혔다.

군과 한국환경공단에 따르면 ’21년도 악취기술진단이 완료된 시설은 총 164개소이며, 이 시설들을 3개 그룹으로 나누어 공정분야, 시설관리분야, 운영관리분야, 기술진단 이행분야에 대한 세부 기준을 마련하여 공정하고 객관적인 평가를 실시하고 있다. 

지난 4월부터 1차 서류평가를 시작으로 5월 2차 현장평가를 진행한 후 최종 심의위원회에서 3차 평가를 진행해 우수기관을 선정하였다.

김대식 하수도사업소장은 “이번 ‘21년도 악취기술진단 완료시설 운영관리평가의 각 분야 평가 항목에서 우수한 점수를 받았고, 이는 공공하수처리시설 위탁 운영사와 하수도사업소 전 직원들의 노력의 결실이며 향후에도 악취 저감을 위한 효율적 시설 운영으로 환경기초시설의 이미지 제고를 위해 노력하겠다“고 말했다.

한편, 한국환경공단은 환경기초시설을 대상으로 '악취방지법'에 따른 기술진단을 추진하고 있으며, 금년도부터 진단이 완료된 시설을 대상으로 효율적인 악취 저감을 도모하기 위해 시설별 운영관리실태를 평가하고 우수시설로 선정된 환경기초시설에 대해 시상을 진행한다.
