동두천시는 동두천의사회, 동두천약사회와 협조해 설 연휴 기간 응급환자 발생에 대비하기로 했으며, 이에 응급의료시설 1개소, 병원과 의원 등 당직의료기관 70개소를 지정·운영하여 빈틈없는 비상진료를 실시할 계획이고, 시민들이 의약품 구입 시 불편을 최소화하기 위해 휴일지킴이 약국을 34개소 운영한다고 했다.

또한 설 연휴기간 내내 응급진료상황실을 운영해 진료가 가능한 당직의료기관과 휴일지킴이 약국을 시민들에게 자세히 안내하고, 코로나19 등 감염병 확산을 차단하고 대응하기 위해 코로나19 상황실을 비롯해 선별진료소 등을 운영해 공백 없는 비상방역체계를 유지한다고 했으며, 특히 시민들이 많이 모이는 전철역, 버스정류장 등에 대해 집중 방역소독을 실시하기로 했고, 전광판, 현수막을 활용해 감염병 예방수칙에 대해 홍보할 계획이라고 전했다.
