[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 1일 동두천시 중앙동행정복지센터에 설치된 희망나눔상자가 복지사각지대 위기가구로부터 큰 호응을 얻고 있다고 밝혔다.

최근에는 양곡, 라면을 비롯한 식품과 치약, 세제 등의 물품까지 비치함으로써 사회복지 서비스 신청 또는 복지 상담을 받기 위해 내방하는 민원인이 희망나눔상자에 대한 높은 관심과 서비스 제공에 대한 만족감을 드러내고 있다고 했다.

희망나눔상자는 실직, 질병 등의 사유로 생활에 어려움을 겪는 중앙동 주민이 행정복지센터에 방문하여 식료품과 생필품을 자유롭게 가져가고, 남은 빈자리를 후원 등을 통해 채우는 방식으로 운영된다고 말했다. 

이춘우 중앙동장은 “일상생활 유지에 필요한 최소한의 비용 지출에도 부담을 느끼는 취약계층이 희망나눔상자를 이용할 수 있도록 홍보함과 동시에 앞으로도 연중 운영할 계획이다”라고 전했다.
